About Me

I am woman.

My coat of arms is not of bronze, but my arms far-reaching.
My shield is not of armor, but soft and transparent.
My sword though swift does not harm, but blazes a path of truth and compassion.
Though not a knight in shining armor, I am enamored with love.

I am woman.

My body, though not super strong, can carry the weight of two for nine months with ease and grace.
My steps, though not big, walk gracefully upon our mother earth.
My voice, sometimes quieted by some, is heard by many.
My god, though good and all knowing, is feminine and divine.
My god, though feminine, hears my prayers.

I am woman.
My hair is graying, but I will not become a silver fox.
My face, now wrinkling, can produce a brilliant smile for you.
My mind, not genius, is keen and clear.
My eyes though failing, sometimes see too much.
My heart, beating, loves many, even those she has never known.
My eyes weep, sometimes without stopping, for all who suffer.

I am woman.

I cry when I need to, and sometimes the tears won’t stop.
I dance no matter who is watching – it frees my soul.
I witness the world around me, and realize the blessings.
I laugh, even when my heart aches, to find my inner strength.
I am woman.

My words, though not understood by all, have good intentions.
My soul, though you cannot see it, is mine.
My thoughts, though you can’t hear them, are mine.
The rest I will share with you if you choose to see me.

Do you see me?

I am woman.
